The 21st century doesn’t only bring new challenges. It also opens new ways of doing business.

The business models inherited from the previous century are reaching their limits today. Pressure on resources, changing usages, societal expectations, new regulations, geopolitical tensions: the challenges are real, but they are not inevitable.

It may be the greatest entrepreneurial challenge of our time, but also a tremendous opportunity. Innovation is no longer only about launching new products. It invites us to explore new business models that durably reconcile economic viability and positive impact.

The good news? Pioneering companies show that concrete levers already exist to get there.

This book is for leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and innovation practitioners who want to stay one step ahead in a world in transition.

Where to start?

Solutions to 6 major business challenges.

Innovation doesn’t stem solely from a technological gesture or a so-called “revolutionary” solution. It also serves very concrete strategic goals for the business: diversifying, capturing new growth engines, improving profitability, reducing certain dependencies, strengthening the robustness of the model…

In JK-Pathfinder, we offer a reading of the different paths in light of your business goals.

I’m looking to activate new growth engines and diversify my revenue

Problems addressed: Reliance on a single economic model, little or no recurring revenue, difficulty scaling without cost explosion, weak value capture over time.

Business benefits sought: Recurring, predictable revenue, monetising usage rather than volume, the ability to reach new segments by leveraging my existing assets, an improved financial trajectory.

I want to launch, validate and secure the potential of new offers

Problems addressed: Innovations disconnected from real usage, long development cycles, investments committed too early, low adoption of new offers.

Business benefits sought: Fine alignment with real usage, lower cost of failure, continuous validation of hypotheses, faster time from test to market, stronger customer relationships.

I want to improve profitability through better resource management

Problems addressed: Margin pressure, rising material and energy costs, dependence on volumes, poor control of hidden costs.

Business benefits sought: Higher unit margin, lower material and energy intensity, optimised asset usage, longer lifespan of products and infrastructure.

I want to reduce my critical dependencies and secure my operational execution

Problems addressed: Reliance on fragile supply chains, exposure to climate, geopolitical and logistical risks, lack of industrial and operational resilience.

Business benefits sought: Stronger operational robustness, better control of costs, lead times and quality, the ability to absorb shocks and secure value creation over time.

I want to build a competitive advantage through impact and my ecosystem

Problems addressed: Easily copied differentiation, price wars, weak or even hostile stakeholder attachment, difficulty defending a durable position.

Business benefits sought: Barriers to entry through higher created value and long-term alignment with customers, partners and territories. Improved customer acquisition performance, stronger strategic legitimacy and desirability of the model.

I want to make my model financeable, credible and steerable over time

Problems addressed: Difficulty raising funds or securing working capital, lack of clarity on performance and impact, loosely structured governance.

Business benefits sought: Alignment between economic performance, impact and governance, greater credibility with investors, the ability to steer the model over time and attract patient capital.

A deposit-return book

This book was designed with reuse in mind

To limit its footprint and spread its ideas, this book comes with a deposit. Thanks to our partnership with Recyclivre, your copy can be resold, re-read and keep circulating instead of gathering dust on a shelf.

How it works

  1. You order the book. Its price, €30 incl. VAT, includes a €9 deposit.

  2. Once read, you send it back to Recyclivre, with free drop-off at a pickup point or partner bookshop.

  3. Recyclivre refunds your deposit at a fixed, guaranteed price (€9 incl. VAT) until 31 December 2026.

  4. The book goes back on sale second-hand at €21 for a new reader. On every resale, 10% goes back to Junko to fund creation.

From 1 January 2027, the buy-back and resale prices will follow the second-hand market price, like any book resold on Recyclivre.
