Terms of sale

1. Purpose

These terms of sale govern the online pre-order sale of the JK-Pathfinder book by Junko Studio ("Junko") to consumers, via the secure Stripe checkout page accessible from junko.studio. Placing an order implies full acceptance of these terms.

2. Seller

Junko Studio, a French limited liability company (SARL) with a share capital of €1,000, registered office at 151 boulevard de Magenta, 75010 Paris, France, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 991 283 342, intra-community VAT FR79991283342. Contact: gabriel@junko.studio.

3. Product

JK-Pathfinder is a paper book. It is a deposit-return book: its price includes a deposit you get back if you send it back once read, via our partner Recyclivre (see section 7). The book's essential characteristics are presented at junko.studio/en/produits/junko-pathfinder.

4. Price

The book is sold for €30 including tax (French books VAT at 5.5%), of which €9 is a deposit you get back when the book is returned (as a store credit voucher or a cash payment depending on the route chosen, see section 7). This price is set by Junko, the book's publisher, in accordance with the French law of 10 August 1981 on book pricing ("prix unique du livre").

Shipping costs: calculated at checkout based on the destination address and the parcel's weight, indicatively around €5 including tax, in compliance with the French legal minimum of €3 for shipping new books. The total price, including shipping, is displayed before payment is confirmed. The book is invoiced at the price in force when the order is placed.

5. Ordering and payment

Orders are placed as pre-orders on a secure checkout page operated by Stripe. Payment is due immediately, by card. An order confirmation is sent by e-mail after payment. The sale is final only once this confirmation has been sent.

This is a pre-order: the book ships from 31 October 2026. If shipping is delayed by more than 7 days beyond that date, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.

6. Delivery

Orders are prepared and shipped by Junko to the delivery address provided at checkout. Delivery areas: France. If a parcel arrives damaged or does not arrive, contact us at gabriel@junko.studio: we will resend or refund.

7. Deposit and book return

The book's price includes a €9 deposit. Once read, you may, with no obligation whatsoever: keep it, give it away, or send it back to our partner Recyclivre. Sending it back is free and can be done in two ways, by scanning the QR code printed on the back cover:

• Drop-off at a partner bookshop: you leave the copy at a Recyclivre partner bookshop and receive a store credit voucher valid in that bookshop, funded by Recyclivre.
• Drop-off at a pickup point: you scan the QR code (or enter the ISBN), send the book to a pickup point and receive, at your choice, a cash payment or a store credit voucher.

When a complete, readable copy is returned, the amount paid back to you corresponds to the guaranteed €9 buy-back price, within the timeframe indicated by Recyclivre. The book then goes back on sale second-hand at €21; on every resale, 10% of the net resale price goes back to Junko (i.e. €1.99 per copy) to fund creation. Returns are neither time-limited nor conditional on a new purchase. The return itself takes place on our partner's dedicated page: vendre.recyclivre.com.

Until 31 December 2026, the buy-back amount (€9) and the second-hand resale price (€21) are fixed and guaranteed. From 1 January 2027, they will follow the second-hand market price, as for any book resold by Recyclivre; the applicable buy-back amount is communicated at return time. (Second-hand sales are not subject to the French fixed book price.)

8. Right of withdrawal

In accordance with articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, you have 14 days from receipt of the book to withdraw from the purchase without giving any reason. To do so, notify us by e-mail at gabriel@junko.studio (you may use the model form in section 11) and send the book back in its original condition within 14 days. Return shipping costs are borne by you.

The full refund (book price including the deposit, plus standard delivery costs) is made within 14 days of our receiving the book or proof of its return, using the same payment method as the order.

To cancel a pre-order before shipping, a simple e-mail is enough: full refund, nothing to send back.

9. Legal guarantees

Independently of the deposit scheme and the right of withdrawal, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, 2 years from delivery) and the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). In case of a defect (damaged copy, missing pages…), contact us at gabriel@junko.studio: replacement or refund, return costs borne by Junko.

10. Personal data and governing law

Data collected with your order is processed as described in our legal notice (payment by Stripe, shipping details used solely to fulfil the order). These terms are governed by French law. Failing amicable resolution or mediation, French courts have jurisdiction under ordinary law.

11. Model withdrawal form
